Cedar

Along the coast of Southern Oregon, unique and aromatic forests line rocky beaches and river ways that form great knots trailing up into a trackless, mountainous wilderness. The Siskiyou Cedar tree heavy with mist and vibrant in green-laced boughs reaches down into wet, rich soil and fills the air with a ginger-like perfume.

This elegant expression of the Pacific Northwest coast eludes culinary description in its warm, round aroma that is more evocative of damp, fresh moss and dark forests where trails dissolve into the thick old growth.

Ginger Cedar, Redwood bark, Coastal Spruce boughs, Oregon Myrtle flower

Christmas Fir

A clean hit of the bright and evocative forests of the old conifers.

Death Valley

The land of the golden coyote and the ancient, red-ribboned earth of California’s majestic Death Valley spans twelve thousand feet of vertical elevation between Bad Water and Telescope Peak. When the sun breaks at dawn over Kingston Peak, the California Juniper trees emit warm pollen on the wind that fills the air with a candy-like flavor, coating mineral-rich stones in a fine yellow dust.

A land of perilous adventure, one that is as different at night as it is during the day, to such a grand degree that you might as well be describing the difference between the sun and the moon. A stark landscape, full of elegant and hardy wildflowers, at once fragile and eternal, a million years of sunshine are captured in this Campfire Incense.

Cinnamon, desert campfire, woodstove.

Desert Pinon

The Desert Piñon is the tree that keeps on giving. For Juniper Ridge, Desert Piñon has been our go-to as an aromatic spearhead of all things Southwest. Its needles, when crushed between fingertips, emit a sweet, resinous note which evokes flashes of desert springs and red rock cliffs. The pitch, the sap as it drips in crystalline formation down the tree trunks of the older trees, is easily harvested and when distilled, defines the wind with its honey-like earthy tone.

This incense is the smell of Santa Fe in the winter, full of enchantment and the spice-like magic of clean, campfire smoke settling in the valley at dusk.

Sweet Pine, resin, desert campfire, chiminea.

Douglas Fir

There is no tree that defines the thick forests of the Northwest like the Douglas Fir. Uniformly stately, these giants march up and down mountains prolifically growing in seasonal cycles of sun and rain. Black barked trees, budding citrus-like aromatic chutes from the end of each branch in springtime and painting deep shadowed forests across the Cascade Mountains where they’ve made their home for millions of years.

This is the only tree to rival the prowess of the Coastal Redwood and commands an old-growth ecology that is certainly every bit as majestic. From the top of Cascade Glaciers to the Sierra Granite highlands, the Douglas Fir encapsulates all the evocative, aesthetic potential of Wilderness Perfume. Enjoying Douglas Fir Campfire Incense is enjoying the quintessential grand pageantry of the western wilderness.

Mountain lodge fireplace, forest campground.

Sweetgrass

Summer across the low prairies of the northern plains of the West is a time of harvest and bounty. The warm wind glows with the cinnamon bread-like aroma of the flowering Sweetgrass, and the long days make it hard to imagine the place locked under a layer of snow which is sure to happen in just a few months.

This Campfire Incense elicits the same types of emotions, triggered by this wonderfully fragrant plant: home, hearth, baking, cooking, spice are all words commonly used to describe this universally enjoyed experience. Often burned for fragrance as a smudging braid, Sweetgrass as a Campfire Incense delivers the same Wilderness Perfume, dried, ground, and long-burning.

Vanilla, fresh-cut grass, cinnamon bread baking in the oven.

White Sage Incense

The clean yet earthy, round yet sharp, deep yet light aroma of the White Sage plant has come to define the connection that hundreds of generations have felt for the wild places of the West. No plant has enjoyed more popularity than White Sage for its singular ability to sideline all other energies with its pointed, recognizable perfume. We wild harvest the same stands of this plant year after year and steward its pruned regrowth in large, secret stands at the bottom of river drainages across the southwest.

This Campfire Incense is the pure and simple delivery of an experience with which many have a long history. White Sage is a very special plant, and we respect and honor its heritage, beauty, and relationship to all those seeking a deeper connection with the natural world and the wilderness where it calls home.

TIP: Don't use Antibacterial Soaps. Antibacterial is an additive in many soaps and household cleaners. Approximately seventy five percent of all liquid soaps contain antibacterial ingredients. According to a study from the Columbia University School of Nursing in New York, antibacterial products do little to prevent illness. Using them in your home is overkill and can create resistant super-bugs. It is much better to just wash your hands thoroughly with a good natural soap and warm water.
